Book Release News!!!

I am very excited to announce that S.R. Johannes' debut novel comes out today!!! Woot-Woot!!!  :))

Title: Untraceable
Author: S.R. Johannes
Series: The Nature of Grace, #1
Publisher: Coleman & Stott
Publication Date: November 29, 2011

Synopsis: 16 year old Grace was reared in the wilderness. Her first pet was a bear named Simon. Her first potty, an oak tree. And, her first swing, a forest vine. Grace has lived in the Smokies her whole life, patrolling with her forest ranger father who taught her everything he knew about wildlife, tracking, and wilderness survival. But when Grace's dad goes missing on a routine patrol, unlike everyone in her sleepy mountain town, she refuses to believe he’s dead. When a Cheetos bag and stolen government file materialize, Grace is convinced she’s one step closer to proving all the non-believers wrong.
Then one day while out tracking clues, Grace is rescued from imminent danger by Mo, a hot guy with an intoxicating accent, that's definitely not from her neck of the woods, and a secret. Grace has never felt a connection like this before, certainly not with her ex-boyfriend, the adoring, but decidedly unrugged Wyn.
Now with renewed confidence, Grace travels deeper into the wilderness that has always been her refuge only to learn that her father's disappearance is not a mere coincidence. Soon she's enmeshed in a web of conspiracy, deception, and murder. And it's going to take a lot more than a compass and a motorcycle (named Lucifer) for this kickass heroine to emerge from an epidemic that's spreading like wild fire, threatening everything and everyone she's ever loved.

Let's see what others are saying:
"This thrilling story is a dramatic entanglement of mystery, deception and teen romance. The action flows like a brisk mountain stream interspersed with rapids, holding suspense to last page."
- Kirkus Reviews

"Grace is a spunky, independent, nature girl who doesn't need a boy to save her. With wilderness survival, a juicy love triangle, and more twists and turns than a roller coaster, this fast-paced novel had me holding my breath until the very last page—and still begging for more!"
-Kimberly Derting, author of the The Body Finder

Sounds good, right?!?! You want to buy it, yes? Well, luckily it's available in paperback and ebook format at Amazon, B&N, iTunes, and other sellers.  :))

Review for Fairy Bad Day by Amanda Ashby

Title: Fairy Bad Day
Author: Amanda Ashby
Publisher: Speak
Publication Date: June 9, 2011

Synopsis: While most students at Burtonwood Academy get to kill demons and goblins, fifteen-year-old Emma gets to rid the world of little annoying fairies with glittery wings and a hipster fashion sense. She was destined to be a dragon slayer, but cute and charming Curtis stole her spot. Then she sees a giant killer fairy - and it's invisible to everyone but her! If Emma has any chance of stopping this evil fairy, she's going to need help. Unfortunately, the only person who can help is Curtis. And now, not only has he stolen her dragon-slayer spot, but maybe her heart as well! Why does she think it's going to be a fairy bad day?

Verdict: Fairy Bad Day by Amanda Ashby was fairy, fairy good (<-- See what I did there?)!!! It was action packed and kept you guessing the whole way through. I loved the characters and the whole concept of the story. And I especially loved the sarcastic, tiny hipster fairies. The main character of this book is Emma Jones, who is supposed to be a dragon slayer. I mean, it's pretty much a given since her mom was a very famous dragon slayer. But (uh-oh), Curtis Green ends up becoming a dragon slayer and Emma becomes a fairy slayer. We should probably clear a few things up, there has never been a fairy slayer before, because they're pretty much harmless. So, you can imagine that Emma gets really upset (understatement). But moving on, Emma's two best friends at Burtonwood Academy are Loni and Tyler. Loni is a horoscope-reading gal and she's a goblin slayer. Tyler is a betting guy and he's a slayer of fire-breathing salamanders. Now, in order to be a slayer you have to have the sight. That's because sight-blind people (a.k.a. regular folks like us) can't see the elemental creatures. The story progresses and the mystery starts to unfold as Emma and her friends have to battle a giant killer fairy. Overall, this book was ├╝ber awesome! And I definitely recommend it; because I for one totally enjoyed it! :))

Well, I have finally figured it out; it's going to be a meme for Awesome Book to Movie Adaptations (ABMA)!!! You like? Now, just so that you can get the basics, this isn't a meme that will have a set date it will be posted. I'm just going to post it whenever I discover awesome book to movie adaptations. Now, I'm guessing you want to see the meme, right? Well, here it is:

I hope you like it! I designed it myself, so I know it's not a masterpiece or anything. But I think it looks alright. Antyways, if you'd like to create your own picture for the meme, that's alright too, but feel free to use the one above as well.  :)) Now my first post for the meme will be up sometime soon! Review: Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally

Title: Catching Jordan
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Publisher: Sourcebooks
Publication Date: December 1, 2011

Synopsis: What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys, and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university. But now there's a new guy in town who threatens her starting position... suddenly she's hoping he'll see her as more than just a teammate.

Verdict: Catching Jordan is the chocolate cake you eat after a very fulfilling meal. I couldn't get enough of it and it ended way too soon. Miranda Kenneally has written a fantastic story that I am absolutely in love with. The main character of this book is a fantastic Quarterback and Captain of the Football team. And her name is Jordan Woods. That's right, she's a girl. She's a very strong character that grows a lot throughout the story. Her fellow teammate and best-friend is Henry. And this guy is totally drool-worthy and down-to-earth. He's the type of guy that reminds you that, yes!, there are still some really sweet, funny, and sensitive boys out there. Jordan's two other really good friends and teammates are J.J. and Carter. Jordan's life was pretty normal, right up until Ty Green shows up. This guy is smoking hot with a sad past. This book revolves around Jordan realizing that what you want is always what you need. This book is filled with true love, acceptance, friends, and (of course!) football. And it's all wrapped up in a pretty cover. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone, because when you get right down to it, this book can be summed up in one word: AWESOMENESS!!!

An ARC was provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

The Book I Am Most Thankful For

So, Beth Revis (the author of the ahhh-mazing book: Across the Universe) is having an awesome giveaway where she asked entrants to post about the book we are most thankful for. Well, this really got me thinking, because there have been a lot of books that I've read- some I've liked, some I've hated, some I've seriously considered marrying.......... You get the picture. But which of these AM I MOST THANKFUL FOR????

I decided to do a little research to come up with the answer. The first place I went was my bookshelf, my eyes scanned over titles such as the Vampire Academy Series, Shadow Falls Series, Morganville Vampires Series, the Darkest Powers Series, Delirium, Divergent, Unearthly, this list went on and on and on..... and on...... and on....... well, you get the picture. But then my eyes landed on the Twilight Saga. Now this series has had A LOT of controversy. Some people love it...... some pople hate it....... From the very beginning I have been a fan of Twilight (and yes, I will be there on November 18 to see Breaking Dawn Part 1 in theaters!!!) But besides it being a great vampire love story, Twilight is what reawakened my love of reading.

Ever since I was little, I have loved to read. But some reason as I got older, my love of reading kind of lyed dormit...... that is, until Twilight. Which is the biggest reason that Twilight is the book that I am most thankful for this year!!!  :))
